The building of the Railway Station Complex have operated in Nizhyn from the second half of the nineteenth century, when the train movement on the Kursk-Kiev railway was discovered past the city (5 km from Nizhyn). The station in 1868 turned into an important point of delivery and export of goods and agricultural products, which contributed to the growth of the city's economic development and passenger traffic.
